Changing What’s Possible: Belgravia Foundation, the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre and Belgravia Health & Fitness Expand Accessible Fitness for People Living with Cerebral Palsy
A growing collaboration between Belgravia Foundation and Cerebral Palsy Education Centre is bringing an accessible gym space to life.
At the heart of a meaningful partnership is a shared belief that everyone is welcome and to ensure no one misses out on anything a leisure facility can contribute towards a person's health and happiness.
Every so often, that belief sparks something bigger, an idea that grows into action, an action that becomes lasting impact. The collaboration between Belgravia Foundation and the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre (CPEC), with great support from Belgravia Health & Fitness, has occurred in which through a shared commitment to inclusion, the creation of a new accessible gym space concept has been designed to empower people living with cerebral palsy.
Crucially, the new accessible gym is designed and will be used as a ‘stepping stone’ for people living with Cerebral Palsy, a place where they will develop familiarisation, skills and confidence, attributes to go with them back into their local communities across Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania, to enable long-term benefit and impact.
Belgravia Foundation is proud to celebrate this success, built on thoughtful guidance, shared expertise and a unified vision for what real inclusion can look like.
CPEC’s physiotherapists played a crucial role in shaping this vision, carefully reviewing each proposed piece of equipment to ensure suitability across a diverse range of ages, mobility levels and therapeutic goals. Belgravia Health & Fitness provided technical expertise, crucial in ensure the new accessible gym was functional, and safe. These contributions, combined with Belgravia Foundation’s leadership and long-standing experience in inclusive practice, has resulted in a tailored equipment plan that will significantly enhance opportunities for clients to build strength, mobility and confidence.
The equipment selected includes:
SportsArt T655MD medical treadmill with detachable step
Stairmaster 4 Series Gauntlet
Concept2 RowErg
Impulse IF 1860 Home Gym (Grey/Black)
SportsArt Medical & Rehab Recumbent Bike
Ziva Performance Neoprene Tribell Set (1–10kg) with rack
SportsArt Status Line Elliptical
Impulse IT Line Multi‑Adjustable Bench
The result is the emerging reality of a space that will broaden therapeutic options and improve health outcomes and foster independence, confidence and joy for children, teenagers and adults accessing CPEC’s services. Stay tuned for updates on how this collaboration will be brought to life and implemented in the new accessible gym space.
