Brooke Hanson OAM OLY to headline 2025 NSW/ACT Diversity and Inclusion in Leisure Forum

Organisers and presenters at the inaugural 2025 NSW/ACT Diversity and Inclusion in Leisure Forum are excited to welcome Brooke Hanson OAM OLY to the role of master of ceremonies for the event to be held on November 19 at Aerial, Ultimo.

The energy, passion, commitment and lived experience that Brooke will bring to the event is beyond comparison.  Brooke is renowned as an Australian sporting icon, having accomplished what few others have - an Australian competitive swimmer, Olympic gold medallist, world champion, and former world record-holder!

But there’s more, much more.  Following her phenomenal competitive swimming career, she has become one of Australia’s foremost professional motivational keynote speaker, master of ceremonies, television and radio presenter and a healthy active mother.

As a motivational speaker and master of ceremonies, she is among Australia’s most sought-after and prominent speakers and event leaders, speaking at hundreds of events to thousands of sport, leisure, business, professional and community organisations.

Brooke’s contribution to community and charitable causes takes her to another level. She is a proud competitor and long serving member of the Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club. Her demonstration of the ethos of ‘giving back’ has inspired members both young and old to replicate her deeds. Extending her reach in support of swimming, Brooke is an Ambassador for AUSTswim, championing learn to swim and water safety for all!

Seemingly indefatigable, Brooke has been unrelenting in her support to charitable causes. She is a much-valued Board Director of Belgravia Foundation, a role she has held since 2017, during which she has provided leadership, initiative and guidance, as well as master of ceremonies for each years Inspirational Breakfast and the first Diversity & Inclusion in Leisure Forum held in 2023 in Victoria.

Brooke brings unique lived experience to everything she does, having survived electrocution in a spa, had first-hand experience recovering from major surf-related spinal fractures in 2023, and having previously provided intense and loving care to family members as they all grappled with the premature birth, illness and tragic loss of a son and brother.
