Celebrating Our Journey: Belgravia Foundation 2017–2025 

Since its establishment in 2017, Belgravia Foundation has grown from an idea driven by purpose into a national charity creating meaningful change across communities. As we approach the end of 2025, this moment provides an opportunity to pause, reflect, and celebrate the people who have shaped the Foundation’s journey — our Belgravia Foundation family. 

Belgravia Foundation was created with a clear vision to remove barriers and create pathways for people who experience disadvantage to access leisure, sport, recreation, aquatics and health. From the beginning, the focus has been on inclusion and opportunity, recognising the powerful role leisure plays in physical, mental and social wellbeing. 

From Vision to Action 

Over the past eight years, Belgravia Foundation has evolved into a trusted partner and sector leader, delivering and supporting initiatives that respond to real community need. This includes programs and projects focused on: 

  • Improving access and inclusion for people with disability 

  • Supporting mental health and wellbeing through education and participation 

  • Increasing opportunities for culturally and linguistically diverse communities, First Nations peoples, and underrepresented groups 

  • Building evidence-based training and resources for the leisure workforce 

  • Partnering with the leisure sector, community organisations, health services, and government to deliver lasting impact 

From national online training programs to place-based community initiatives, the Foundation’s work has been guided by evidence, lived experience and meaningful collaboration. 

Powered by People 

While programs and partnerships are important, it is the people behind the work who have made Belgravia Foundation what it is today. 

Across the years, a dedicated and passionate group of team members, Board members, partners, volunteers and advocates have brought the Foundation’s purpose to life. Their commitment, care and belief in inclusion have driven innovation, strengthened partnerships and ensured that communities remain at the centre of every decision. 

The Foundation’s growth has also been shaped by strong governance and leadership, with a Board and executive team committed to integrity, accountability and impact. 

A Time of Reflection and Gratitude 

As Belgravia Foundation CEO Dr. Jeff Walkley prepares to step down at the end of 2025, this milestone is also a moment of gratitude. Under his leadership, the Foundation has matured, expanded its reach and strengthened its voice within the leisure and recreation sector. 

Reflecting on the journey, Dr. Jeff Walkley shared: 

“Belgravia Foundation has always been about people — the communities we serve and the incredible team who show up every day with passion and purpose. I am immensely proud of what we have built together.” 

Looking Ahead 

While leadership transitions mark change, the Foundation’s purpose remains steadfast. Belgravia Foundation enters its next chapter with strong foundations, trusted partnerships and a clear commitment to continuing its work alongside communities. 

As we look to the future, we celebrate not just what has been achieved, but who we have become — a Foundation driven by compassion, collaboration and a shared belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to participate, belong and thrive.
