Aim of the 2023 Christmas Bauble Appeal
The goal of the Christmas Bauble Appeal is to raise much-needed funds for local communities that might otherwise miss out on the opportunity to engage in leisure, recreation, health, aquatics, and community sports. This annual appeal, re-launching after COVID times, serves as a powerful reminder that providing access to recreational activities fosters a true sense of health, well-being and belonging for everyone. By supporting this initiative, community members contribute to creating positive change in the lives of those in their own community who may face barriers to participation.
Local Initiatives and Causes
Belgravia Foundation encourages participating venues to align with specific local causes, ensuring that the funds raised stay within the community where they are needed the most. The unique feature of the Foundation is that all funds raised locally remain for use in that community, providing 100% support to initiatives aimed at helping under-represented groups access sports, aquatic activities, fitness programs, recreational opportunities, health services, and employment opportunities.
A Bauble for Every Cause
Participating venues for 2023 and their aligned fundraising causes are below:
Ascot Vale Leisure Centre (VIC): Subsidises opportunities for people with a disability to participate in a AAA swim and social program.
Loftus Recreation Centre (WA): Supporting homeschooled families accessing health and well-being programs.
Monbulk Aquatic Centre (VIC): Funding inclusive indoor soccer for local community groups seeking social connection.
Warragamba Swimming Pool (NSW): facilitating a disengaged youth mentoring program in collaboration with the local Police unit.
Wollondilly Community Leisure Centre (NSW): facilitating a disengaged youth mentoring program in collaboration with the local Police unit.
Yarrambat Park Golf Course (VIC): Aiding inclusive access to golf for those who often miss out including children, youth, women, and people with disabilities.
