Belgravia Foundation Celebrates Local Community Kindness and Generosity This Christmas
As the festive season approaches, Belgravia Foundation celebrates the incredible spirit of giving and community support displayed across Belgravia Leisure venues this Christmas. This year, local venues have truly embraced the holiday season, becoming hubs of kindness and generosity by partnering with various local organisations to help those in need.
At Knox Leisureworks, the local community has come together to support families in need this Christmas through a collaboration with Knox Infolink and the Salvation Army. Over 50 non-perishable food items, toys, games, clothing and much more have been collected for distribution to families, with the Salvation Army providing emergency services and advocacy to those facing complex challenges. Knox Infolink has also been instrumental, providing crucial relief to individuals experiencing homelessness, offering services to over 4,000 people in 2023-2024 alone.
Meanwhile, Redcliffe War Memorial Pool has joined forces with Share the Dignity, a charity dedicated to supporting women and children in crisis. By collecting donations for the “It's in the Bag” initiative, Redcliffe is helping ensure that vulnerable women and girls receive a gift of love and hope this Christmas. These donations provide essential items for women in domestic violence refuges, promoting dignity and care for those facing hardship.
Bribie Island Aquatic and Leisure Centre has also made a generous contribution by supporting the Neighbour Centre's “Christmas Hamper Appeal 2024,” helping families in need during this special time.
At Yarra Leisure, donations are being collected for Holy Fools, a local charity that provides vital support for those experiencing homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges. Additionally, toys are being gathered for Benwerren, a local service that assists women in need.
At Swirl, the holiday spirit shines through with their 24 Days of Cheer and Fitness initiative, where members are recognized each day with small tokens of gratitude, celebrating the positive impact they bring to the community.
Belgravia Foundation is proud of how each of these local partnerships showcases the true meaning of community. By providing space for these donation drives, and actively engaging with local causes, Belgravia Leisure centres continue to serve as more than just places for fitness and recreation—they are integral parts of the fabric of their communities.
Together, these initiatives remind us that Christmas is not just about gifts, but about creating a sense of belonging, support, and joy for all. Belgravia Foundation is excited to continue fostering these relationships and making a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
