Tee sponsorship initiative raising funds for inclusive golf course at Keilor Public Golf Course

Keilor Public Golf Course in conjunction with the Belgravia Foundation have launched an ambitious tee sponsorship initiative at the golf course. Local business owners have the opportunity to promote their business on a tee box of their choice for one year. With the funds raised, Keilor Public Golf Course and the Belgravia Foundation plan to help build an all abilities Junior Golf Course on existing vacant land at the facility.

Together, Keilor Public Golf Course and the Belgravia Foundation identified that due to their traditional length and level of difficulty, golf courses can act as a barrier to participation of young people and people of all abilities. A purpose-built golf course that meets the needs of these demographics is an exciting, inclusive initiative that will inspire the next generation of golfers to get involved in the sport.

Keilor Public Golf Course and the Belgravia Foundation have raised over $2,500 so far, and plan to raise thousands more to contribute to this great local project that will provide a level of access to golf for juniors and people of all abilities never seen before in the Western suburbs of Melbourne.

Golf Course manager, Jack McDonald said, “At KPGC we truly believe golf is one of the greatest sports a kid can play. It's outdoors, it's social, it's exercise and teaches life skills like patience and cooperation.”

“Local businesses have always supported our golf course and we believe this is a tremendous way to give back – and to get noticed. We are very excited about the project and look forward to engaging with businesses in our local community”, Mr McDonald said.
