Yarrambat Park Golf Course  is the home of The Grass Lands beer garden. In partnership with Jesuit Community College, The Grass Lands welcomed a group of keen young adults to learn the highly coveted skills of a barista with the ‘Ready, Set, Work Barista‘ course.

The two-day barista course is designed to prepare people for work in the vibrant café scene or enhance their existing skills with further training. The course offers job readiness, work experience and employment pathways amongst identified community groups.

The course included how to operate a commercial espresso machine, making a range of coffees but most importantly, improving job-ready skills and increasing confidence in each of the participants.

Short courses such as Ready, Set, Work Barista have been monumental to Yarrambat Park Golf Course through its connection to the local community and; providing a safe and nurturing environment where participants feel comfortable to learn new skills. This fantastic course is also an opportunity for participants to make new friends and connections with each other.
