Belgravia Foundation reflects on World Mental Health Day
October 10th marks a day of global significance, one that calls our attention to a cause that affects the lives of millions of people worldwide: World Mental Health Day. This day serves as a reminder of the critical importance of mental health, an aspect of well-being that profoundly influences our lives in countless ways.
In an increasingly complex and fast-paced world, the significance of this day cannot be overstated. The mental health of individuals and communities is an integral part of our collective well-being. It shapes how we navigate challenges, build relationships, and grow resilience.
Belgravia Foundation recognises the profound impact that mental health has on our lives, and we are committed to supporting mental health initiatives within the leisure and community sports sector.
MHeLP: Mental Health eLearning Program
One of our flagship initiatives in this regard is the Mental Health eLearning Program (MHeLP). This innovative program equips learners to understand their own and others mental health but also improve their confidence to support someone living with a mental health condition; whether that’s a family member, friend, colleague, team mate, club member or customer. It is completely free, online, accessible, self-paced and evidence-based resource that supports workers and volunteers of the leisure and community sports sector. Through MHeLP, we're not just providing a service; we're creating a culture of care and understanding.
Take Charge Exercise Program
At Belgravia Foundation, we understand that physical health goes hand in hand with mental health. Our Take Charge Exercise Program embodies this belief by offering individuals with diagnosed mental health conditions access to complimentary 60-day gym memberships at participating Belgravia Leisure venues.
This program is more than just a gym membership; it's an invitation to join a supportive community that understands the importance of exercise in promoting positive mental mental health practises for prevention and intervention. It's about fostering social connections and providing individuals with the tools they need to take charge of their mental health journey.
Supporting Mental Health on World Mental Health Day and Every Day
On this World Mental Health Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the significance of mental health in our lives. It's a day to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and promote open conversations about mental health.
At Belgravia Foundation, we're committed to supporting mental health not only on World Mental Health Day but every day. Our initiatives like MHeLP and the Take Charge Exercise Program are just a few ways we're working to create inclusive, supportive, and mentally healthy communities.
