Belgravia Foundation celebrates Redcliffe Pool's initiative to support youth resilience and empowerment

In response to growing concerns about negative content affecting young girls' self-perception, Redcliffe Pool took action. During a recent Community Network Forum, discussions highlighted the impact of societal pressures and online influences on body image and self-esteem. To combat this, Redcliffe Pool organised an Empowering Girls Day during the Easter School Holidays.

The event aimed to foster a sense of support and empowerment among girls of all ages. Activities included interactive games promoting unity, discussions on combating bullying, and swimming exercises focused on trust-building. Participants also enjoyed a healthy lunch provided by Redcliffe Pool, emphasising the importance of nourishing the body.

Throughout the day, girls engaged in conversations about positive mental health practices, like the benefits of self-talk, and coping mechanisms for moments of self-doubt or anxiety. They were encouraged to start their day with positive affirmations and given mason jars filled with uplifting messages to turn to when needed.

The Empowering Girls Day received overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in promoting body confidence and mental well-being among young girls. Redcliffe Pool plans to organise similar events in the future, continuing their commitment to empowering youth and fostering a supportive community environment.

Belgravia Foundation would like to congratulate Redcliffe Pool on addressing an important community need. This initiative provided a safe and welcoming space for youth to discuss vulnerable topics and learn how to take care of their minds and bodies through positive physical activity and mental health practices.
