Belgravia Leisure Mornington Peninsula Team at the Belgravia Foundation Inspirational Breakfast

In support of the Belgravia Foundation Inspiration Breakfast, the ‘old’ MornPen team and the newly formed YAWA team got together to watch the breakfast presentation while enjoying some home cooked breakfast (and some not so ‘home cooked’ breakfast).

The teams found the event to be a fabulous celebration of the work being done by Belgravia Foundation, work which Belgravia Leisure staff working on the Mornington Peninsula actively support. Even though they only had one scratchy competition winner, they all felt inspired after hearing about the amazing work the Belgravia Foundation team have been doing and how they can help make big improvements to the mental health of people in our local community. T

he launch of the Mental Health eLearning Program was roundly applauded by the teams, and is being promoted among staff and throughout the community. In the spirit of celebration and collegiality, after the event they then took to the court for a friendly team building game of Pickle Ball. After learning the rules and proper serving technique (shout out to Penny Boyce) the games were underway. The new YAWA team proved too good for the ‘old’ MornPen crew and took out the first annual Pickle Ball competition!

Newly appointed Youth Activation Officer Shalise Sherlock said “I see a lot of young people with a mental illness. The Mental Health eLearning Program is a fantastic tool that will help better prepare me to know how to best assist youth who experience mental illness, and provide them with pathway options from which to choose to start improving their mental wellbeing.”
