On Thursday the 26th of September, WaterMarc held their jungle-themed open day with a cause. The fun-filled ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ event raised important funds for local primary school, Olympic Village, part of La Trobe College. This vibrant school, staffed by committed teachers, supports children from many backgrounds.

From the generous effort of the local community, WaterMarc and the Belgravia Foundation were able to raise over $3,400 on the day. This will go towards the partnership with Olympic Village Primary School and help to guide future projects that will improve access to swimming lessons and other recreational needs in the local area.

Together, WaterMarc and the Belgravia Foundation, identified a community access gap at Olympic Village primary school for swimming lessons. After analysing the region, it was discovered that students at the school are at high risk of not meeting the standard Victorian Water Safety skills and curriculum goals implemented by the State Government.

To ensure students meet these requirements, WaterMarc and the Belgravia Foundation worked with Olympic Village Primary School to create to a solution whereby to deliver the state accredited swimming lessons at WaterMarc commencing in 2020.
