Belgravia Foundation celebrates Bendigo’s aquatic facilities for their community support this Christmas
As the holiday season approaches, Belgravia Leisure, operators of the aquatic facilities across Bendigo, are extending an invitation to the community to join in spreading joy. Until December 20, the pools will be accepting donations of non-perishable food and toys to support those in need during the festive season.
In collaboration with Bendigo Foodshare and Anglicare Bendigo, Belgravia Leisure facilities across the City of Greater Bendigo will also serve as drop-off points for these donations. The initiative reflects the organisation's commitment to community engagement and making a positive impact beyond the bounds of their leisure facilities. Locations include:
Jayden Cowling, one of Belgravia Leisure's Community Engagement Coordinator’s for the region, highlighted the profound connection the venues share with the community. "We are expecting over 60,000 visitors across our five sites through December," he mentioned. "It has been a tough year for many, so we are calling on anyone who is in a position to donate to help make the Christmas period a little easier for another local family."
Lisa Melleuish, another Belgravia Leisure Community Engagement Coordinator for the region, emphasised that even small donations could make a significant difference to the Bendigo Foodshare campaign. "Simple staple food items are great, be it pasta, rice, grains, cooking oil, canned vegetables, cereal, condiments, and especially coffee, tea, and Milo," she stated.
In addition to food items, the initiative is also collecting toys in collaboration with Anglicare Bendigo. This joint effort aims to bring joy to local children during the festive season, ensuring that Santa's visit is extra special.
Belgravia Foundation encourages everyone in the Bendigo community who can contribute to participate in this heartwarming initiative. Let's come together to make a positive impact and spread the festive spirit. Donations can be made at any Belgravia Leisure venue in the City of Greater Bendigo.
