MHeLP Milestone Marks a Priority Area for Belgravia Foundation
Belgravia Foundation Celebrates 8,300+ Completions of Mental Health Training Program (MHeLP)
Belgravia Foundation is celebrating a major milestone in its commitment to mental health and wellbeing, with more than 8,300 individuals across the leisure, aquatics, fitness, recreation, and sport sectors having completed its Mental Health eLearning Program (MHeLP).
MHeLP is a free, evidence-informed online training program developed in response to the mental health impacts of COVID-19. Created under the guidance of international experts and endorsed by 25 leading organisations across Australia and New Zealand, the program equips participants with the skills to care for their own mental health, support others, and foster more inclusive and resilient workplaces.
“There is no reason why anyone should be shying away from this critically important resource; it is a vital tool for everyone in the sector to take advantage of,” said Dr Jeff Walkley, CEO of Belgravia Foundation.
“Additionally, as employers in the leisure sector, we each hold a responsibility as per Safe Work Australia’s Code of Practice to manage psychosocial hazards in our workplace, the same as we currently must do for physical hazards. MHeLP supports this by providing information and training for your workforce.”
This milestone coincides with World Mental Health Day (10 October) and Mental Health Month, a time to reflect on the importance of mental wellbeing and the role community spaces play in supporting it.
Belgravia Foundation continues to lead the way in embedding mental health support into everyday environments, ensuring that leisure venues are not just places to move, but places to connect and heal.
Survey data shows that MHeLP has had a measurable impact, with a 21% increase in participants’ confidence to adapt programs and sessions to better support individuals living with mental health conditions. This growth in workforce capability is helping to create safer, more supportive spaces for all.
In addition to MHeLP, Belgravia Foundation continues to champion initiatives that reduce isolation and promote connection, including:

Through MHeLP and its broader suite of wellbeing initiatives, Belgravia Foundation is helping thousands prioritise their mental health, not just in October, but every day of the year.
