Belgravia Foundation proudly celebrates the extraordinary achievements of Belgravia Leisure venues recognised at the 2025 Belgravia Leisure Awards. These awards honour the individuals and teams who bring Belgravia Foundation and Belgravia Leisure’s shared mission to life; creating healthier, more connected, and inclusive communities. 

Leisure centres play a vital role as community hubs. They are more than places for fitness and aquatics; they are spaces where people come together, build relationships, and find a sense of belonging. Whether it’s through social activities, culturally inclusive programs, or targeted health initiatives, Belgravia Leisure continues to demonstrate the transformative power of recreation. 

Through the advocacy of Belgravia Foundation and the efforts of the Belgravia Leisure Access and Inclusion team, local champions across our venues are empowered to offer creative, tailored opportunities that meet the unique needs of their communities. These awards showcase the best of these efforts, programs that inspire change, build confidence, and ensure no one is left behind. 

Celebrating Award Winners and Nominees 

Community Program Award 

  • Nominees: 12 programs making a positive impact on local communities. 

  • Winner: Knox Leisureworks Department of Veteran Affairs Exercise Program. 

  • A specialised initiative designed for veterans, this program supports both mental and physical health while fostering camaraderie, resilience, and connection.

Inclusive Award 

  • Nominees: 12 initiatives leading the way in inclusion. 

  • Winner: Gungahlin Leisure Centre Refugee & Migrant Swimming Program. 

  • This program equips refugees and migrants with critical swimming and water safety skills while building confidence, cultural connection, and community engagement.

Belgravia Foundation Award 

  • Nominees: 6 innovative programs reducing barriers to participation. 

  • Winner: Ian Thorpe Aquatic Recreation Centre Ukrainian Refugee Swimming Program. 

  • By providing essential swimming lessons and safety education, this program extends a warm welcome to newly arrived Ukrainian refugees, helping them feel safe and supported.
