Belgravia Foundation welcomes Yehyung to the team

Belgravia Foundation strives to support the entire leisure sector through multi-layered activities. Supporting the next generation of workers and leaders is one part of this. Through carefully planned and supported activities, people who seek to gain experience and deeper understanding related to health, diversity, inclusion and leisure can gain knowledge and skills that can be carried forward and influence their work for years to come.

Belgravia Foundation and Belgravia Leisure are currently hosting Yehyung, a student at Monash University completing field placement. Below Yehyung comments on this exciting opportunity, her inspirations and how she can share her expertise to create positive outcomes for both organisations.

My name is Yehyung and I’m a third-year student completing my Bachelor’s degree in Public Health at Monash University. For my industry placement unit, I was given the wonderful and exciting opportunity to be placed with Belgravia Foundation.

Throughout my degree at Monash University, I’ve learnt how to engage with community members, understand evidence-based health research, and make decisions through a social determinant’s lens. My personal key takeaway from my course is the importance of healthcare being catered and personalised to optimise health and wellbeing. Now that I know the theory, I’m excited to translate what I learned into practical, real-world applications.

As someone who is interested in giving back and working with the community to promote good health and wellbeing, I trust that under the guidance of Belgravia Leisure, I’ll gain valuable insights from their expertise. Likewise, in accordance with Belgravia Leisure’s values for inclusion and diversity, I’m excited to implement my own ideas and skills into new projects and tasks.

I believe that everyone should be able to access good health and wellbeing, and I hope one day everyone can have access to healthcare which is equitable, inclusive, and accommodating to their needs. With the help of Belgravia Leisure and their team, I hope to make the first steps to make this happen.
