Belgravia Foundation Celebrates Local Partnerships and Community Spirit at Yarra Centre’s Halloween Street Party

Belgravia Foundation is thrilled to highlight the amazing impact of local partnerships and the strong sense of community spirit, as evidenced by Yarra Centre's participation in the annual CIRE Community Hubs Halloween Street Party. For the third year running, Yarra Centre proudly joined this popular event, which continues to grow and bring together people from the Yarra Ranges and surrounding communities.

The Halloween Street Party has quickly become a community tradition, with over 3,000 people registering to participate in this free event. Costs for the event are made possible through local grant opportunities secured by CIRE, showcasing the power of community funding and collaboration. The event has seen remarkable growth since its inception, with the first year attracting just 800-1,000 attendees, demonstrating how local events can grow in both scale and impact when the community comes together.

Yarra Centre played a key role in this year’s celebration, welcoming over 1,400 participants. The centre’s spooky hallway, which provided a fun and safe space for children to walk through on their way to the crèche to collect their treats, added to the festive atmosphere and was a major hit among the attendees. The dedicated staff and community volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure the event was a success, proving that volunteerism and collaboration are essential to bringing community events to life.

This year’s Halloween Street Party also included market stalls, food trucks, and various booths from local support organisations, including EACH and the Country Fire Authority (CFA), further reinforcing the importance of community partnerships and support networks. These partnerships demonstrate how local businesses, volunteer organisations, and public services can collaborate to create events that benefit and engage the whole community.
